NFL Week 2 Recap: Immediate fantasy football takeaways from Lions-Bills

September 18, 2026 • 2 min read

The clash between the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills provided plenty of ammunition for fantasy managers, most notably confirming that Dalton Kincaid is firmly established as an elite asset. After battling through previous injuries that limited his availability, Kincaid has exploded into a focal point of the Buffalo offense. By maintaining a massive snap rate and becoming a fixture in the Bills’ newly favored heavy personnel groupings, he has proven himself to be a must start option moving forward. For those lucky enough to hold both him and another top ten tight end, now is the ideal window to trade away the surplus and capitalize on the desperation of other owners.

On the opposite side of the ball, Detroit fans and fantasy owners can breathe a sigh of relief regarding Sam LaPorta. There were lingering concerns following his recovery from back surgery and various preseason knocks, but LaPorta looked completely unleashed during this contest. Unlike earlier appearances where he seemed to be operating on a restricted snap count, he remained virtually glued to the field throughout the game. With his workload returning to its peak levels, any anxiety surrounding his durability or role in the offense should be put to rest.

However, things are less certain in Buffalo’s receiving corps following an unfortunate injury to standout wideout DJ Moore. Moore exited the game after taking a hard hit to his shoulder while attempting a touchdown catch, leaving several teammates to scramble for targets. Keon Coleman emerged as a primary beneficiary of Moore’s absence, recording six catches for 63 yards in what was his strongest performance since last September. While Joshua Palmer continues to find ways to get into the end zone despite fluctuating snap counts, Coleman appears to be earning more trust from the coaching staff. Should Moore miss significant time, Coleman becomes an immediate priority add for anyone looking to stabilize their roster.
